Hurricane Season!
May 21st, 2007
Hurricane Season starts in 10 days! Are you ready?
I didn’t know that it was Hurricane Preparedness week, officially declared by the President. Of course, since he’s done so much for the good people of New Orleans. Ha!
Were we smart to move back? It feels right, but who knows?
On another note, today was T’s graduation. So cute!

I love my dog. We adopted him from the St. Tammany Humane Society. He thinks he’s a Fotter boy. Which he is I guess. We think he looks like a dingo.
Graduation

NHS graduation tonight. It felt rather surreal to be in the SLU auditorium watching the seniors graduate. I never imagined doing that again! They were very excited to be there though and it was fun to see.
Monday is T’s graduation. Should be very cute. His prom was adorable!
Guess I’m not a very good blogger……
May 15th, 2007
It’s been six months since my last post! yikes ! I guess that’s an indication that life is busy.
We are back in Louisiana- in our old house- same job, etc. and it’s all good! I’m very happy to be back and settled. I don’t miss much about C-ville except my friends.
Thinking about graduate school- being a school librarian! Isn’t that the perfect job for me? All of the program can be completed online, which is great.
The last book I finished was Falling through the Earth by Danielle Trussoni. It was a memoir written by a woman whose dad was a Vietnam Veteran. It was fantastic! I think I might read Stephen King’s new book next.
My 20th high school reunion is next month. I won’t be going because I’m going with my family on a vacation. I have mixed feelings about missing it. It would be fun, but also weird.
My goal is to write more for this blog, even though no one reads it! I like to look back at the past and see what I’ve written and what silly things I was concerned about at the time.
We are home!

and it sure feels good!
Thank you to all of our good friends who helped us move. The help was so appreciated!! Moving is always so stressful and so much more work than you anticipate.
It’s funny and strange how much I love this place. It feels so good to be back. The people are so nice and everyone talks to you. The food is awesome. I just feel like I belong. I never truly felt quite settled in C-ville, even though I loved it and loved my friends. I guess we were so settled here and never wanted to leave, that it was hard to fully commit to C-ville.
I’ve been reading about Mardi Gras all night on the internet. It is possible that we will be going to the Endymion Extravaganza! It’s a very fancy affair- tuxedos, limos and all. I can’t wait- this is a once and a lifetime affair! I think A and S will probably come- we will show them a good time!
Good night!
Happy Holidays!

YOU KNOW YOU ARE LIVING IN 2006
September 19th, 2006
My mom sent me this email. You have probably seen it before, but I thought it was pretty funny. I especially liked #10 because that is exactly what I do.
YOU KNOW YOU ARE LIVING IN 2006 when…
1. You accidentally enter your password on the microwave.
2. You haven’t played solitaire with real cards in years.
3. You have a list of 15 phone numbers to reach your family of three.
4. You e-mail the person who works at the desk next to you.
5. Your reason for not staying in touch with friends and family is that
they don’t have e-mail addresses.
6. You pull up in your own driveway and use your cell phone to see if
anyone is home to help you carry in the groceries.
7. Every commercial on television has a web site at the bottom of the screen.
8. Leaving the house without your cell phone, which you didn’t have
the first 20 or 30 (or 60) years of your life, is now a cause for
panic and you turn around to go get it.
10. You get up in the morning and go online before getting your coffee.
11. You’re reading this and nodding and laughing.
12. Even worse, you know exactly to whom you are going to forward this message.
13. You are too busy to notice there was no #9 on this list.
14. You actually scrolled back up to check that there wasn’t a #9 on
this list.
AND NOW YOU ARE LAUGHING at yourself.

Weird things children put in their bodies

This time it was a balloon in the ear! W always resisted the urge, but T has put raisens and goldfish up his nose and now a balloon in his ear. I took him to the doctor this morning thinking that he had an ear infection and lo and behold it was a foreign object! The doctor flushed it out (w/ W and I gagging the whole time) and asked T if he wanted to keep it. GROSS!
