Long day
August 17th, 2006
Being sick stinks! I am going to work anyway today. How many times have I done this and gotten more sick? oh- every time. The boys are coughing up a storm but no one seems to have a fever. It’s going to be a looooooooooong day.
First cold of the school year- woo hoo!

Never fails- just get my kids around some new germs and we’re all sick! Luckily, I don’t have students yet. I’m going to try to plow through the week and TRY to rest this weekend.
EXCEPT we are roasting chile! Should be a good time. Don’t know how much rest I’ll get. Oh well- fresh Hatch chiles are totally worth it!
The long summer ends
August 6th, 2006
Tomorrow is my first official day back at work. I have two weeks of workshops until school starts on the 21st. Monday and Tuesday will be reading workshops and then Wednesday through Friday are new teacher workshops. I’m nervous about starting in a new school district AGAIN, but excited to get back to work. I’m sure T will be happy to start school with his new friends. I know he’s missed having a group of buddies to play with. There are not many four year olds in our neighborhood for him to play with and a couple of “gym mommies” that I’ve called have been rather aloof. So, he’s excited to be around four year olds. W is of course always excited to go back to school. I hope his fourth grade year is a little more stable than third grade. At least he’ll be in the same school all year.
WW
August 3rd, 2006
Surprise at WW- lost 1.8 pounds. The program works IF YOU ACTUALLY DO IT!!! So my goal is to consistently follow program and not give up when I don’t lose. I would finally love to lose this weight I gained after Hurricane Katrina and all the moving. This weekend will be challenging with all of the eating out, but I’ll do the best I can and keep on trying.
So how do I start?
August 2nd, 2006
My first blog post ever! How exciting! I decided to start my own blog because I enjoy reading other people’s so much. I also would like to chronicle and organize my feelings as the first anniversary of Hurricane Katrina approaches. I wish that I had kept a blog for that. The boys and I went to Chris Greene Lake to escape the heat today. I think they were both getting tired of the water park ( I know I was!) and this was a nice diversion. The water was so warm, though and the air so hot, that you just had to sit in the water without moving for the whole time. Tomorrow, M’s dad and stepmom are coming for a visit and I’m looking forward to showing off C-ville. Also, my first weigh-in at WW. Nervous about that! I manage to stay on program throughout the week and then have a really hard time when the weekend rolls around. I figure I’ll get in the groove once school starts again (one more week- aaaaaagh!)
